About S.Solon
S.Solon LLC is named after Solon, the Athenian lawmaker known for fairer rules and better systems. About 2,600 years ago, he reduced crushing debt, freed people trapped by it, and built laws that gave more people a voice. After the reforms, he left Athens so the new rules could stand without him.
Those values — wisdom, fairness, and better systems — are why the company is named S.Solon. The name also echoes Shao Long (Shao + dragon), which is why the mark is a dragon forming the letter S.
Aculen is our software for small law firms: fewer tools, fewer mistakes, clearer work. Just as Solon improved the legal system of his time, Aculen is built to help lawyers manage civil litigation within a single system.
Aculen began inside a working California law firm that S.Solon helped build — from a solo practice to a nine-person team. Running the firm's operations day to day, we watched court forms go out with the wrong information typed into the right fields, emails reach the wrong recipients, and deadlines hide inside informal emails where a missed one could cost a client their case. So we built web apps to fix each problem as it appeared. Those apps grew into Aculen: one system that fills the court form correctly, sends mail to the right people, and catches the deadline — built and tested on real matters before reaching yours.
